LatinAsia Biz 2005 Forum, a forum which draws business delegates and professionals from Latin America and Asia to participate and share their experiences and expertise, attracted more than 250 delegates comprising 10 countries from both continents.
Held at the Meritus Mandarin Singapore, this prestigious event has seen the attendance of distinguished guests such as Edmundo Sussumu Fujita from the Ministry of Foreign Relations, Brazil; Raul Urteaga Trani, Minister of Trade and Investment Affairs, Mexico; and other business leaders from various commerce chambers of Latin America such as Chile, Panama, Argentina, Brazil and Mexico.
Their profound understanding of the region provided useful and valuable insights to Asian companies on how to better understand and operate their businesses in the Latin economies. With LatinAsia Biz 2005 Forum, StrategiCom, alongside IE Singapore and the Singapore Business Federation, has established its presence as a Global Business Meetings company. CEO, StrategiCom, Dr Wilson Chew, “LatinAsiaBiz was to initiate and facilitate more trade activities between the two regions. We are proud to have organised with IE Singapore and the Singapore Business Federation. This is the kind of event we want to organise, going forward.”
Salient topics included the availability of establishments in Latin America which can assist Asian companies with in-depth knowledge of new business startups, or technological and manufacturing infrastructures available in various business sectors. Detailed information of the region’s future plans was also presented by eminent speakers.
Mr Alphonsus Chia, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, IE Singapore, “As one of the fastest developing regions in the world, Latin America’s demand for goods and services across multiple sectors is substantial. More significantly, it is a market that is still relatively untapped and unsaturated. Singapore-based companies should seriously consider the abundant business opportunities that Latin America offers.”
The highlight of the event was the business-matching session where business leaders from both sides met 1-to-1 in an exclusive setting to discuss business projects in detail. These sessions were fruitful for local MNCs and SMEs such as Sime Darby, Haw Par Health Care, and YCH. Alongside market sessions on the various economies and the possible financing solutions available to potential investors, the Forum also provided the platform for networking.
StrategiCom is once again proud to have benefited the business community in Singapore; bridging their businesses one step closer towards the untapped markets of Latin America.
