Clinical Nutrition is ready for Singaporeans as it is in Australia, New Zealand, United States, Central Europe and Asia. The Singapore International Clinical Nutrition and Health Congress having made its debut in Singapore from 21-23 May 2005, attracted more than 200 doctors, specialists & clinicians in Singapore and around the world. "Nutritional Medicine has been practiced over 1000 years by doctors and the “prevention-is-better-than-cure” approach to managing health and early stages of diseases through the balance of nutrition, is fast becoming a part of the medical doctors’ practice.” Professor Ian Brighthope, President of the Australasian College of Complementary and Environmental Medicine.

Doctors who attended the conference went away with specific expert knowledge on patient treatment from a holistic perspective and the complementary roles in which nutritional supplementation can play when it comes to the prevention and treatment of diseases. A doctor said, “It is known that clinical nutrition as a form of medicine has relative lesser evidence as compared to conventional medicine; but through this conference, the Pandora’s Box is open and more evidence in nutritional medicine are being unveiled. Therefore, patient treating clinicians must continue to be open to new evidence”.
