Bringing a "Brand" New Life to the Enterprise
12 Apr 2006 | By Dr Wilson Chew - Group Principal Consultant & CEO

StrategiCom, IE Singapore and the Singapore Business Federation jointly organised a Business-to-Business Brand Workshop on 29 March 2006.

The seminar attracted more than 50 delegates cutting across various sectors. Aptly entitled “B2B Branding for Singapore SMEs”, this seminar explored several relevant branding issues relevant for the sustainability of local Small and Medium Enterprise. Mr Jacky Tai, Programme Manager (Branding) of IE Singapore, kicked off the programme of the day by sharing his rendition of the 10 Rules of Branding. “Local enterprises place a heavy focus on productivity and efficiency but neglect the strategic aspects of their company and products. With not so strong a brand, they are frequently compelled to compete on price and this is unfortunate” said Dr Wilson Chew, CEO of StrategiCom Pte Ltd.

A key driving focus of the seminar was to inculcate in our local enterprises a positive attitude and correct mind-set with regards to branding. This was clearly achieved, “Just to thank you and Jacky for the excellent seminar from which has helped us to better understand some of the complexities of branding” - Dr Sivam Khrish Phd., CEO Genometri.

Issues raised at the workshop included:
  • Branding and its effects on Organisational Culture;
  • Branding and the various stages in a Product Life Cycle;
  • Brand Alignment for the diversified holdings company; and
  • Brand Valuation
