StrategiCom launches office in Lagos, Nigeria
1 Apr 2006 | By Dr Wilson Chew - Group Principal Consultant & CEO

Business-to-Business brand strategy consulting firm StrategiCom opens an office in Lagos, Nigeria on 1st April 2006. This new office serves as a foothold into the markets of Africa and the Middle East, strengthening StrategiCom’s global coverage. Principal Consultant Adewuyi, A. Adenmosun leads the consulting team in Lagos, a centre of business where new enterprises are emerging.

In recent years, there has been a growing trend of Singapore Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) entering the markets of Africa and the Middle East. In line with StrategiCom’s commitment to serve B2B companies, the opening of our Lagos office is both timely and fitting. According to Principal Consultant Mr. Adenmosun, “Lagos is Nigeria’s financial, commercial and industrial nerve centre with more than 2,000 manufacturing enterprises and over 200 financial institutions, including the nation’s premier stock exchange, the Nigeria Stock Exchange. It also houses the nation’s monetary authority, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the Security and Exchange Commission. This is the city to tap into the African market.

Nigeria is the second most populous country in Africa with Lagos being the largest city within it. Though not the political capital, it is the nation’s commercial centre, brimming with foreign interest and investments. Indeed, the headquarters of multinational conglomerates like UAC, Unilever, John Holts, BEWAC/VYB, Leventis, Churchgate, Chevron, Shell, Mobil and the nation’s giant public enterprises are all located within the city. Lagos is also well-connected to the rest of the major cities in Africa and serves as the business and financial hub for the region.

The African market is known to possess immense potential for growth. As expressed by Mr. Adenmosun, “Lagos State is not yet industrially saturated. There exists a vast potential of undeveloped land in the Eti-Osa area of Lagos, Badagry, Epe, Ikeja and Ikorodu Divisions. The State Government is constantly opening up more areas for development, such as the setting up of small-scale industrial estates in all of the State’s 20 local government areas to boost the presence of SMEs”.

The benefits of corporate branding are becoming more appreciated by companies all over the world. These companies have come to realise the importance of differentiating their businesses through branding, in order to strengthen their competitive advantage. “StrategiCom adopts a common and structured process in serving our B2B clients. Our proprietary methodologies are specifically designed for those B2B companies to help develop and strengthen their corporate and product brands. This is what StrategiCom offers all our clients worldwide, as we are dedicated to improving the stakeholders’ perception of our clients”, said Mr Adenmosun, Principal Consultant of StrategiCom Africa.
